How to Share Your Scoutzera Project With Your Editor (No Account Needed)

When your brief is ready — the project brief written, the videos annotated — sharing takes one click. Scoutzera generates a public token-based link that gives your editor read-only access to everything: the brief, the video grid, and every note on every video. They don't need an account, and they don't need to install anything.

Generating the share link

Open your project detail page and click the "Share" button in the project header area. A share dialog opens and Scoutzera generates the link immediately — there's no processing delay. The link is a token-based URL (something like scoutzera.com/share/abc123xyz). The token is what grants access: anyone who has the URL can view the project, so treat it the way you'd treat a read-only Notion link or a Google Doc set to "Anyone with the link." Send it only to the people who should see it.

The link is generated once and persists until you explicitly regenerate or revoke it. You can close the share dialog, come back a week later, reopen it, and the same link is still there — ready to copy again. You don't need to regenerate the link every time you share it with the same editor.

Copying and sending the link

Inside the share dialog, click the Copy button. The link is copied to your clipboard and the button briefly shows a visual confirmation ("Copied!") so you know it worked. From there, paste it wherever you'd normally send a brief: a Slack message, an email, a WhatsApp thread, a Notion page, a Loom description, a Google Doc. Your editor opens the link in any browser, on any device — desktop, tablet, phone. No login prompt, no download, no app store. The page just loads.

Tip: Brief your editor the same way you'd share a read-only Notion doc: paste the link, they click it, they're in. The difference is that all the context is pinned to the video, not floating in a separate document.

What the link gives access to

The shared view includes: the project title and description, the full project brief formatted exactly as you wrote it, and the video grid with every video you've attached to the project. Every video card is clickable — opening it shows the same video player with all your timestamped notes displayed in the panel on the right. Frame drawings are visible inline. Your editor can download any video directly from the shared view without a separate transfer link.

The view is strictly read-only. Your editor can watch videos, read notes, click timestamps to jump to specific moments, expand frame drawings, and download files. They cannot create notes, edit the brief, upload anything, or see any other projects in your account. The URL is scoped entirely to this project.

Regenerating and revoking access

If you need to share the project with a different person — a second editor, a client who needs to review — but want to revoke the original editor's access, use "Regenerate link" in the share dialog. The old URL immediately stops working for anyone who has it, and a new token is generated. The regenerated link works exactly like the original and covers all the same content.

If you want to stop sharing the project entirely, use "Stop sharing." The share link becomes a 404 and no one can access the public view until you generate a new one. Neither regenerating nor revoking deletes the project or any of its content — it only controls whether the public URL resolves. Your videos, notes, and brief are untouched.

Sharing individual videos vs. the whole project

The project share link covers every video attached to that project. If you only need to share a single video — not the full campaign — navigate to that video's notes page and check if a direct video share option is available. For most creator-editor workflows, sharing at the project level is the right move: the brief that explains the whole campaign lives at the project level, and your editor needs that context to do the individual videos well. Sharing individual videos works best when you're getting one-off feedback on a clip, not handing off a full editing job.

Your brief, one link, no account needed

Annotate your cut, write your brief, click Share. Your editor opens the link and has everything — without signing up or downloading a thing.
